If you live in a corner of the world where seas or lakes freeze over, you should try kicksled touring. Sometimes you find a perfect kick arena extending everywhere you can see. It does require some knowledge to estimate when the ice will be strong enough and some rescue skill if your estimate was wrong (Best approach is to have a friend who has the skills), but learning these skills is fun too.
